No pond

I'm depressed about my pond. We just keep running into problems. It's really getting to me. I'm trying to be patient with all the rain because I know we need it but the forecast is calling for it almost every day nest week!! I'm going to go stir crazy.

We went to a birthday party this afternoon so that got me out of the house and away from thinking about my pond, for a little bit anyway. Connor had a great time. It was his friend Megan's party. Her birthday isn't until Thursday. She's going to be 4 already!

This month has flown by, maybe because I missed 5 entire days at the beginning of the month being deathly sick. Tomorrow is the first day of May!

April Showers Bring May Flowers..

I know we need the rain but I really want to play with my pond! I have so much work to do to it and it keeps raining. I bought me a pair of turtles swinging on a swing to hang from the limb right above my pond. It keeps me wishing! I guess if it rains much more I won't have to fill up the pond ;)

I've been cold all day. I finally broke down and turned the electric fireplace on. I was determined to not pay for anymore heating but Connor was cold and I couldn't say no to him.

Baby fish are getter bigger. I counted 10 out eating today. Crazy little things.

We have power... Well almost

Jacob worked on my electricity for my pond today. He ended up spending a small fortune on stuff to do it with. It's almost done. Should be done tomorrow. It's suppose to rain all weekend so I probably won't get to work on my pond much :( While putting in the wiring for the pond Jacob somehow disconnected our phone line so we were without the phone or the internet for several hours! He got it fixed though. He also got his cage put in today. It was all donated by Shannon Heating and Cooling. They did a good job. It looks nice.

Just incase you all are wondering... Even though he didn't finish the project I did feed him tonight. As long as he's making progress he'll get fed lol. I made him a pot of chili tonight.

Daily blogging

Jacob Passed his certification today so he won't have to go to class tomorrow. He still insists that he is going to be too busy to put in my electricity for my pond. I'm not real happy about that. I think I should insist that I'm too busy to cook him dinner until he gets unbusy enough to put in my pond. lol

My Father-in-law brought me a load of really nice rocks! He also brought me 2 nice plants that my mother-in-law picked up for me. They are really going to look nice by my pond!

I send off for all kinds of really neat samples to get in the mail. I use a old junk e-mail address because I don't want junk mail. Today I got a pack of gum, some mints and a blank birthday card to use from Hallmark. I love getting good stuff in the mail, much better than just getting bills in the mail. I've found I like my mailman more now. :)

Baby Goldfish

Here is a picture of my baby Goldfish. They are very tiny so the picture isn't real good. The last couple of days they have been coming out more and more when I feed them. They all seem to be doing very well.

Baby Molly's are really getting big now. If anyone wants any Molly's just come and get them. We have plenty to share!

My "garden" sort of...

This is my "garden". Ok it looks more like a construction site than a garden right now. I'll post the "after" pictures when I get it all nice and pretty!

I did however find something very neat while digging today. I found part of an arrowhead. My dad has a huge arrowhead and Native American Indian artifacts collection that he has found over the years. This is my first find! Pretty cool!

Sadie

This is Sadie our new 2 year old German Shepard. She is currently trained for narcotic detection, active alert.

My daily rambling..

Jacob bought me a new 90 gallon garden pond last night. I can't wait to get it all set up! Today I finished digging the huge hole. Jacob is going to have to wire up something so that I'll be able to plug in the pump for it. It's going to look so nice once we get it all done.

My baby goldfish came out and ate for the first time when I fed them today. I counted 7. They seem to be doing well. Once they get a little bigger I'm going to put a few goldfish in my garden pond.

Jacob's first day of K9 training was today. It went well. He brought Sadie home for the first time tonight. She is adjusting well. She will come home with him every night from now on. She is very pretty. I'll get some pics taken and post them soon.

Yard Work

I just got in from getting my yard mowed. I did it all in one day! Last time it took me 2 days to get it done. Grass sure does grow fast! Push mower is good exercise for me. I sure am tired! Jacob says I'm sure turning out to be a good husband. lol. Also got some flowers planted today, please pray that they live! They sure look pretty right now.

BABIES

Guess what folks? We have BABIES!! Our tropical goldfish has had babies. At least 6 that we have counted. They are very tiny and lighter colored than our Molly's were so there's probably more in there. They are so cute. This event is slightly ironic however. Why? Because we only have 1 goldfish! We have always only had 1 goldfish. How did this happen?? I'm not sure. Maybe she was pregnant when we got her, or maybe that's why Mama Molly killed Daddy Molly maybe he was messing around with the Goldfish! Who knows. All I know is that if we keep having babies like this we are going to have to open a pet store! This new addition will make over 30 fish in one small 10 gallon tank. Whatever it is we sure seem to have one love nest of a fish tank. Jaocb said "It must be in the water" lol

YARD SALE

Yard Sale
412 Long Street Mountain Grove

Yard Sale Happenings

We are getting ready for a yard sale tomorrow at mom's house. Boy I have lots of junk that I needed to get rid of. A few months ago I finally went through baby clothes so I had 6 trash bags of baby clothes on top of all the other stuff I had. My next post will be an ad. for the yard sale.

Jacob went out to try to get a few more donations, like I said earlier we do have the money counting the $500 that we will get next month but he'd like to use that for equipment. He talked to the trainer yesterday and if he can come up with the rest of the money this week he can start his training next week! Jacob's boss has also agreed that this would be fine. I'm going to try to go help him get the last little big of donations tomorrow, he doesn't do so well going by himself. He doesn't stay focused and loses motivation. lol.

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to our friends Eddie and Jeni Welch who have been married 6 years today! Congrats guys!

Dog Blog...

Well, Jacob called Norwood school this morning to see how the meeting had went and if they were going to donate. They were pretty hateful in telling him NO! Keep in mind Jacob graduated from this school and wants badly for our son to go to school there and they just happened to be the most hateful in the district! URG! We have been turned down many times but there isn't any sense in being rude.

Today wasn't as good as yesterday. Jacob really wants to raise enough money that we can go ahead and pay for the dog and use the $500 from Mansfield school, the check won't be cut until next month, for equipment. We almost have enough money to do that, we like about $200.

On the plus side Wal-Mart, who had matched our bake sale funds of $187.50, also donated a pet crate today. This is nice because it's one thing off of the equipment list that we won't have to buy! A big thanks to Mark Hyde. Also Mutt Cuts has agreed to do all of the dogs grooming. She will bathe her and will also cut her toe nails and everything for free. Besides both of those great things being donated we raised about $80 today.

We've made it!

We have officially raised enough money for the purchase of the K9. What a great feeling! We do still need a little more money for equipment and things but it still feels great to know we've got the money for the dog. We had several very generous donations today including.. $150 from Ronnie Hyde at ReMax, $100 from Rhonda at Cornerstone Realty, $100 from Nancy at Realty Executives, $50 from DD Hamilton Title Company, plus many more. As soon as we are completely done I'll post a list of all of our donors. We are so greatful to all of them.

Water Balloon Fight

The kids had a great time playing with the water balloons. It was the girls Emmalee, Melody and Megan Vs. the boys Connor and Benjamin. They had so much fun. I was just glad that I was able to sneak out and take a picture without getting wet. Jacob did throw one at me while he was filling them up but luckily I didn't get too wet.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! Connor was up at 7am saying Happy Easter! He was very excited. We have had a fun day. We had an Easter egg hunt here and then we went to Jacob's parents. They fixed BBQ ham for lunch, it was yummy!, the kids had an Easter egg hunt and then they had a water balloon fight. I'll post a picture of that next. Connor has lots of candy to eat plus 2 large chocolate bunnies that my mom got him for Easter. I'm sure his dad will help him eat it all.
Jacob is gone to work for the evening. It's a bummer that he has to work on Easter but in this line of work there is no being off on holidays.

Easter Eggs

Today Connor and I have filled all of his plastic eggs with candy and tonight we are going to dye eggs. He's pretty excited. He keeps saying "This is going to be my best Easter ever" He's so sweet. We have also bought him an Easter basket, he doesn't know about it yet though. He got to see the Easter bunny in Wal-Mart and got his picture taken. Kids are so fun at this age. I wish I could keep him here forever.
Happy Birthday to my niece Emmalee! Today is her birthday. She turns 6 today!
Happy Birthday to my Sister-in-Law Glendella, she turns 35 today!

My plant

Here is a prime example of what I grow best. I tried to grow flowers in these pots a couple years ago but didn't have any luck. This came up on it's own and grows just great! What is it?? Well, if you can't tell by the picture it's a plant called Toxicodendron radicans, or better known as Poison Ivy! Yes, this grows in 2 pots beside my front steps. Luckily noone in our family is allergic to poison ivy. It also likes to grow on our back fence. I hate to destroy it considering it's the only thing that I can grow but I don't think company will like it too much. I guess it's a good way to keep people away. lol.

Mowing

Well, It's that time of year again. I got my yard mowed today. Most of it anyway. The lawn mower and I both ran out of gas. I'll go get some and finish it up tomorrow. I got all but inside the back fence mowed. It sure was HOT out there. I was plum pooped! It sure looks alot better. I had to have my dad help me clean out the carburetor. Lawn mower runs great now. We've had this lawn mower for over a year and yet we still have the tags on it.

Jacob is still at work. He gets off at 7:00pm. Tomorrow is also his day off but he's going to help Bryan work on Bryan's roof so he won't be home.

Connor is happy that the ice cream truck has started their route again. Yesterday we missed it but him and Grandma went and chased it down. I think he can hear her bell a mile away.

Another Day of Donations

We spent yet another day out looking for donations. We did really well today. Once home I entered all of our numbers into the computer and our grand total that we still need is less than $400! Almost there!

The weather was sure warm today. I love this type of weather. My tulips are all bloomed now. So very pretty. The yard needs mowed and that isn't pretty! Tomorrow is Jacob's day off but he has to spend the day working for FEMA. At least he'll be off tomorrow night.

Getting close

A big thank you goes out tonight to the Mansfield School board for their donation of $500 for the K9. Also to Craig-Hurtt-Bradley funeral home for their $100 donation. This brings us very close to our goal! We can see the end in site!

In other news:

Congrats to my nephew Ryan. They won their baseball game tonight with a score of 8-7. Also to my niece Shyla who did well at her track meet tonight.

The baseball game was good. It was cold out tonight. Very windy.

I counted today and I have 29 tulips bloomed and around 10 more getting ready to bloom at any time! They are so pretty.

SPAMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

HAHAHHAHA!!! I SNUCK IN AND SPAMMED YOU!!!!!NYA NYA!!!!
Love ya babe;)

Raising Money

We are still trying to raise this last $1000 for the K9. Tonight Jacob went to Mansfield School Board and I went to Hartville City Council. We have several other places that we are going to try. He also has several other board meetings coming up. hopefully this huge fundraiser will all be over soon. There is talk of "maybe" putting together a "Guns n' Hoses" :) Baseball game to raise money. It would be the cops against the fireman. We will have to see just how much interest there is.

Connor got to stay with his Cow-Pa tonight while we went to our meetings. He is still talking about how Cow-Pa let him have 4 cups of ice cream! If he gets a bellyach later I'm calling him lol. That's what kids love about grandparents they get by with stuff Mom and Dad wouldn't let them have. ;) Parents love Grandparents because they are free babysitters!

Sunday

Connor got to see his very first calf born today. That was pretty exciting for him. His Grandpa Kelley had to pull a baby calf this afternoon and Jacob got there right in time to help. Afterwards we got to have a nice visit.

Connor has worn his Superhero jammies all day long. He refuses to take them off. He says he's a SUPERHERO! Good thing we didn't need to go to the store for anything today.

NEW LOOK!

My blog has a new look! Sometimes I thought that the old background made it a little hard to read the text. Maybe my heads just been hurting alot and it was hard for me. Either way.. Change is Good.
Anyway, I like this one. It still PINK!

Tulips

One of my favorite things are my tulips. I get very excited every year when they bloom. You see, I don't have a very "green thumb" but I do well with my tulips. They are easy to grow. It seems that sometime in the last 5 days of my absese from the world my tulips bloomed! No one even told me, not that I was awake to hear them but this is big news to me. I should have had many more but I had a nasty vine that took over part of them. It's my fault for not taking care of it sooner. My mom and Dad bought me 3 more yesterday that I need to plant.

As for me I'm continuing to do better. Today I feel so much better. Still have little to no appetite and am battling the headaches from being dizzy. Hopefully that will all go away very soon. I'm glad to be back.

I am alive

Wow. It's been one heck of a week. I slept through most of it. With a temp. Averaging 103.4 for almost 5 days it really takes it out of a person. I am feeling better now. My fever has gone down for the most part. Yesterday it would go down but then go back up. My antibiotics make me VERY dizzy. So I try to take them early in the morning and then in the evening. I know I should spread them out a little better. But I've almost fell several times. I also have ungodly headaches. I guess from being dizzy so I also take something for that. Make sense? I don't know. You all know that I am NOT a pill popper but right now my coffee table looks like an old persons house I have so many prescriptions. I'm glad I stuck it out. I don't know how we are going to pay the first ER bill. I can't imagine having 2. Poor Jacob was getting really frustrated with me refusing to go to the ER but I made it. I'm still far from feeling 100% but I did get dressed today, in clothes I picked out! All through this I've taken about a million cold baths to bring down my fever and Jacob would get me some clothes. Which was usually a pair of HIS shorts and one of HIS t-shirts. No complaints here though I cared not what I looked like and was thankful he got them for me.

I'll try to post more tomorrow if I'm up to it.

Kidney Stoned

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know what's going on with Amanda. She was experiencing terrible pain Sunday night, so I took her to the E.R. and guess what! A kidney Stone! It was about 2mm in size, and was expected to pass within 12-24 hours. They gave her some pain meds and released her. You'd think that would be the end of the story, but with Amanda, there's always more. Yesterday I took her to the Doctor for a checkup because her temperature was around 103, and now she has a kidney infection (but on the bright side, she thinks she passed the stone!) The doctor gave her some antibiotics and told her to get better. You'd think that would have done it, right? Guess not though. Her fever is still going between 103 and 104. We've tried everything to get her fever down. First there was ice water. Then there was popsicles. We've even thrown in Motrin and a cool bath. The lowest It's gotten is 101.1, and that was right after she got out of the tub. Within no time it goes right back to 103-ish. If anyone has any suggstions, let me know, thanks!

Update Your Clocks

With keeping with the spirit that I want to post something every single day tonight I find myself struggling for words to post. The baby fish are growing like crazy. Only about half of my clocks are changed to the new time so I've fond myself unsure of the time about a million times a today which brings me to my next thought... Why don't clocks adjust themselves like my computer does? It would make my life much easier! I mean how hard could it be? My alarm clock has like 1000 different features. I can't even set the darn thing. Jacob has to set it. They make them with 45 different beeps and alarm sounds, 4 different brightness of the numbers settings, more FM radio stations than my car will pick up, instructions in 5 different languages and yet it can't automatically update for daylight savings time! My alarm clock also has a "battery backup" which means that if the electricity goes out my clock isn't suppose to reset. This feature has never worked! We've kept batteries in it. I could rant all day on the "features" that new electronics have. Most of which are of no good to the normal consumer and yet they can't make useful features that people would actual use like automatic daylight savings time.

So if anyone that works for any big clock making company stumbles into my blog, which isn't probably going to happen, take heed on my clock suggestions. This is what we need... One beep, the local radio station, big numbers cause I'm blind without my glasses, a large snooze button and a feature that will automatically update for daylight savings time. I don't think I'm asking for much. You can keep all the extra fancy stuff I won't be able to use it anyway.

Changing Clocks

Daylight Savings time begins officially at 2:00am tomorrow morning. I'm sure you'll all stay up to change your clocks!

Spring Forward!

Happy April Fool's Day!

Did you play any good tricks on anyone today? Anyone play any good ones on you? Post them in the comments!

Fun Saturday

Today has been a fun day. We took Connor to the park. He got to play with lots of kids there. Then we went to McDonald's for lunch and went and shopped at a new clothing store that opened in town today. Didn't buy anything. The weather has been beautiful today. It looks like it might rain a little later but we couldn't have asked for better weather earlier.
Hope all of you got to be out there enjoying it as much as we have today!
