7 Years

Today Jacob and I have been married 7 years. It's been one heck of a ride. We've been through more things together than I would have ever dreamed. I love him even more today than I did the day I married him. He is a wonderful husband and father. He's been beside me on the happiest day of my life and he's been beside me on the saddest days too. Through it all we've came out on top.

Happy Anniversary Honey! I love you! Here's to our future and to many more happy memories! Whatever life throws at us we will face together.

Pink Car

I'm not sure what I want for my blog but I hate looking and seeing the last post because it just makes me mad. So here's a picture of my car. We worked on it all day yesterday. There's some more pictures on myspace. It's HOT pink. The picture doesn't show it's true color well. I LOVE it!!!! The headliner is pink also but we have to redo it because the fabric I bought was satin and the adhesive is only for cotton and it didn't work real great. It looks ok just not perfect...yet!


Oh and I think we ruined any chance of ever selling the car to a guy. lol

Fireworks

We went to the fireworks at the First Babtist Church in Mountain Grove last night. They always put on such a good show and they have so many activities for the kids to do. They had several of the big blow up jumping things, face painting, snow cones and they always have a TON of wonderful deserts like homemade ice cream, cake and watermelon. The best part is that it's all FREE! It makes for a great family evening without costing a dime. We really appreciate them putting everything together. I know it must take a lot of hard work and money to pull off.

Rain Rain Go Away...

Is it my imagination or is it raining a whole lot for this time of year? The fireworks were canceled last night. We have fireworks tonight but it's raining so they might get canceled also. :(

By the way everyone.. We are having a big party at our house on July 14th. For those of you with Myspace I'll be sending out event invites and a bulletin on it also. I already have a blog about it on myspace. We're going to have a BBQ, swim in the pool, all kinds of fun stuff and then that night we'll shoot off fireworks. We'll probably try to eat sometime around 6pm. Everyone is welcome at any time. Come early for fun or later for fireworks. It doesn't matter.

Another accident

We've been too busy for me to post the last two days. We've had meetings in Springfield both yesterday and today.

Wednesday we had another bad car accident. It seems this poor lady fell asleep going east on Hwy 60 topped the hill between Hwy 60 and Old 60 and landed upside down on Old 60! When we arrived on scene Jacob went to grab the jaws and I went on ahead to the car. I saw her arm and I though "Oh no this is BAD" Amazingly she not only survived the crash I think she'll be just fine. It was a PERFECT example to wear your seat belt. If this lady hadn't been in her seat belt I have no doubt that she would have probably died. I crawled in the front of the car with her while another fireman and Jacob helped from the backseat. They slid the backboard in and I was amazed that I was able to get her legs out without any force. Once I got her legs and Jacob and Brad helped me get her body we were able to slide the backboard out with her and they carried her out. It was so hot and I didn't wear my fire jacket just my pants. Which is a major "no no". I should have wore it because I ended up getting five little pieces of glass in my arm from trying to get her legs out. They were tiny and didn't do much harm but I should have wore my coat!

It's amazing to see such a success story. I have said over and over sometimes you look at a car accident and you think "how did they ever survive" and they walk away fine. Other times it looks like a small fender bender and the people perish. I'm so glad she wasn't hurt any worse.

It's ALWAYS good to have a happy ending.

Bumper trucks

Jacob and I went on a rescue call together yesterday. I love it when we get to go on calls together. That doesn't happen very often.

The call was to a motor vehicle accident on whetstone hill. Apparently this truck came up the hill way to fast and ran into the back of a dump truck. Then it took awhile for them to get stopped so the dump truck drug this truck the rest of the way up the hill. He was hurt pretty bad. Poor guy had already had 4 back surgeries. He wasn't complaining about his back too much though. I think he was just in too much pain in general. It took Jacob and 3 EMT's to get him out of the truck. While me and another EMT to move the cot. He'll be ok I think but I'm sure he'll hurt for awhile. His truck wasn't as lucky and he's lucky the back of the dump truck hadn't came open due to the accident. If that had happened 17 tons of gravel would have came down on him. He'd never survived and it would have taken us awhile to dig him out.

Be careful out there. Watch where you are going. Pay attention.

Get Lost..

I've been tempted to not write about this but I thought I'd set the record straight so no stories were told on me. So here's the story about how I got lost in Norwood...

Jacob and I went down to a party at his Uncle Lonnie's house last night. I had to leave to go pick Mandie up a little after 10pm. Jacob stayed and drove his parents home. This is the part of the story I get to tell on my dear father-in-law... he fell out of a lawn chair last night... not once.. twice :)..

Anyway Jacob said to me just pull out of the driveway and keep turning right and it will take you straight back into town... So I turn right out of the driveway. I didn't know I was suppose to go straight when I was leaving the driveway so I guess I was lost from the moment I left the driveway. No one paid any attention to me leaving so they didn't know I was lost until they came into town a little bit later.

I'm driving down this old dirt road and I finally come to another place where I'm able to turn right. So I turn. I drive and I drive and I drive.. Anytime I need to turn I just turn... RIGHT! So finally this road is so narrow there is grass growing in the middle of the road. By this time I'm over 30 minuets late to pick up Mandie. I'm not too worried because I know the girl that she was closing with and I know she'll take her home. I turn around. Drive for what seems like forever. I come to a fork in the road where I can turn 3 different directions. At this point I had no idea which one I had even been on in the first place. The road signs are no longer names they are numbers like 117 and 124. There are no houses around to ask for directions. Connor is with me and he keeps saying "why don't we call daddy". I have no cell phone service that's why I don't call! I tried to stay calm so he didn't know we were lost and told him oh mommy just took a wrong turn. We have to turn around.

At one point in the evening I came to pavement and boy was I excited... for about 2 minuets when the pavement ended but I kept driving.. why??? Because Jake had said to turn right! I drove and turned right a few more times I totally had no idea where I was at or where I was going. By this time I'm very worried. Luckily we had a full tank of gas and my goal for now is just go get somewhere where when Jacob came looking for me he'd be able to find me because the road I was on then I was sure no one would ever find me on.

So finally I come to pavement.. again! So I turn... RIGHT!! I meet this truck... Wait a minute... that might have been Jacob.. no I don't think so... Keep driving.. The pavement ends!! I'm like.. oh no there is NO way I'm doing that again. I'm turning around. To my relief it was Jacob! He had saw me and turned around. I was so happy to see him. His dad got in with me and led me back to town. We got home sometime between midnight and 1am.

I guess during all of this Mandie had called my mom because she was worried because I never showed up to pick her up. Mandie and Andy had joined in on the search and Tom and Shyla were on there way up to help and my parents were getting ready to leave to help look.

Thanks for looking for me everyone! I was sure happy to get home!!

New pool

It's hard to get a good picture of our new pool so this will have to do for now. I'll try to get more soon. The water was so cold. We swam a little this afternoon and then around 10pm we were all hanging around on the deck so I decided to jump in. Jake jumped in also but he didn't last long. BURRR was it cold.

Craft Fair

We went to the annual Intercounty Electric meeting today. We had a craft booth. It was sure hot. Poor Connor had a bad day. Once Grandma lost him, then he fell off the playground equipment and cut his knee, then he was helping me take the canopy down and he pinched his belly. He was able to play in the pool once we got home and he sure enjoyed that. He's wore out. He fell asleep around 7:00pm and still hasn't woke up.

Big Ideas

Sometimes Jacob gets an idea in his head that most people would think over before doing. Not Jacob. If he decided for example... in the middle of the afternoon that we needed a pool. He might just drag my butt outside to shovel dirt for hours before heading to town to buy the largest pool that Wal-Mart carries. then we would spend the entire evening putting a monster of a pool together and not even get to swim because it turned dark and the water is COOOOLD...

Yes, this is what he decided to do today. All I asked is that maybe we could drive down to the creek and or something. So now we have a pool that we're pumping 6,424 gallons of water into! It's 18 feet across and 4 feet deep. It's a nice size pool. I think it's going to take 3 days to fill up.

I look like a lobster. I'm burnt so bad and I hurt. Connor got burnt too being outside. Tomorrow I'm going to hurt so bad. We have a craft fair... oh that reminds me... If you're a member of Intercounty Electric be sure to attend the annual meeting in Licking tomorrow. They are going to give away some great prizes and best of all.... I'll be there. lol. :)

Garden

My garden is doing pretty good. Everything seems to be small which I think is pretty cute. :) My corn isn't small though. It's growing great! I have toe-maters also. Toe-Maters because they aren't even as big as my little toe. They are the cutest baby tomatoes I've ever saw. Carrots and my peas are looking good. My peas are starting to bloom. I can't wait. The pumpkins we planted are vining everywhere. I'm pretty happy since it's my first garden.

Just Stuff.

There is no Ballgame tonight.

No cakes to post this time. :( I have a wedding cake for this weekend to do. I'm starting to get more and more cake orders. I just wish I made more money at it.

We went to the Se-Ma-No meeting on Saturday. Connor won $10 in a kids drawing.

I sure wish we had more craft fairs right now. I'm starting to miss my paycheck. :( I don't however miss all the crap I had to put up with.

Last night I got to have a night all by myself... that was nice. I did go on a first responder call. That was motivating. I hadn't been on a call for awhile and it reminded me how much I really love it.

Why else would I be blogging at 3:00am! I tease people and say all the time that I don't think my oven will work until after midnight. lol.

It took several hours but I think it turned out ok. It sure is heavy! It's 4 cakes! It has more cake mixes than a small 3 tier wedding cake.

My cousin, also a fellow deputy, John "tested" the cake scraps and said it was good so I'll take his word for it. :)

Organic food and Conservation

Last night while shopping at Wal-Mart I ran across organic milk! Since when was milk not organic. This stuff was so organic that it didn't need to be refrigerated. I don't know about you but I don't want any milk that doesn't need to be kept cold. Exactly what are they "milking" it from?? It amazes me when I see food like milk and carrots being called "organic produce" Ya Think?? Really well I think I'll start eating it now that it's "organic". It amazes me that people spend so much money on so called "organic food" What exactly make food organic?

Websters says this in referring to Organic: of, relating to, yielding, or involving the use of food produced with the use of feed or fertilizer of plant or animal origin without employment of chemically formulated fertilizers, growth stimulants, antibiotics, or pesticides

Ok so no problem I've got got some corn growing that the dog decided to pee on earlier. I think I'll call it "organic". People if you are that worried about how your food is grown... grow your own. I think there should be organic chocolate and beer. I mean you don't see anyone using pesticides on them so I think they could be organic. Then we'd see all these high class size zero girls turn into fat drunks and still not be anymore intelligent. I've decided I don't want to buy any food that has to advertise themselves as organic. No thinks I think I can figure out where it came from all by myself.

On a more positive note. I just got around to reading my latest edition of Missouri Conservationist. I was happy to see a beautiful picture and spotlight on Missouri humming birds this month. You know their wings can flap as many as 50 times per second and they can fly 60 miles per hour! I knew they were cool! Anyway Missouri is having their annual Free Fishing Days on June 9th and 10th. No state fishing permits are needed on Missouri waterways on these two days. Have fun!

Hummingbirds

I love hummingbirds. So far I've seen about 5 at one time but as fast as the feeder is going down I'm sure I have many more.

My father-in-law found a quail nest in the field today so we're going to try to hatch them. When I was little there were quail everywhere. Then we went through many many years that there weren't any. Now I'm starting to see a few. I'd like to do my part if I can to help the population. Man they are sure yummy and I'd like to see one day where we can hunt them again.

UPDATE: Unfortunately I told Jacob they would probably be alright to be kept outside overnight and something came along and ate them!! URG!! If I find out what varmint done it. I'll have their hide!

Update

Well, After talking it over with Jacob I decided that it would be best for me to quit my job. This was a hard decision because I do like my job and I like the people I work with. I talked it over with my manager and she understood. She was very nice about the entire thing. I ended up finishing out the weekend. Sunday was my last night. Well, I did go in and do the paperwork for them last night but only because they are pretty short handed. Two people got fired this week and me and another one quit. There's not many left who can do paperwork or have a key and the safe codes.

So Sunday night I really didn't do much. Lots of the regulars came in to say goodbye. One brought in a a bunch of strawberries that were very yummy.

On the plus side I've been busy busy busy with cakes. I'll get some pictures put on a little later.

Frustrated Again...

Again tonight someone comes in complaining to me. Like I done something wrong when it had NOTHING to do with me. This time it was someone different. Although the guy from the other night came in also. I guess he talked to my manager and told her that all I do is call the cops on everyone. The ONLY time I've called Jacob is when he came in harassing and threatening me and when we have had drive off on gas. We have to report drive offs. My manager was not mad at me and she took up for me with him. She even joked that she was going to hang a sign up in the store that read "If you have a complaint Amanda does not care" lol. Still I'm upset. I'm tired of leaving work upset. Especially when I do like my job. I'm so tired of being blamed for everything that's out of my hands. I try not to talk about Jacob's job at work and sometimes people get mad when I won't tell them things but I can't! Like I told my manager tonight I never expected to have this kind of problem when I started working there. Never in a million years would I have thought that people would be so mean and hateful to me at work. It's not fair that I would have to quit my job. To me it feel like then they are winning but I don't know what to do. I don't know how to fix this.

Police Report

Last night I had to fill out my first police report. While working I had a guy come in that had been in some trouble with Jacob the night before. He started yelling and cursing at me. It got to the point that another co-worker of mine had to throw him out of the store. This is the same man that has came into the store on a number of times threatening to "shoot people", his exact words, due to different reasons. Anyway due to some ugly battles Jacob had to do his best to stay out of the situation and luckily John Dugger came over and took my complaint. I'm filling harassment charges. The sad part is that once Jacob talked to the sheriff he was pretty much informed "too bad" I want these charges filed and if he comes in again I will have a restraining order put on him. I'm not kidding. I want to get this across to the sheriff and the prosecutor that I'm serious about this. I'm not doing this because of his involvement with Jacob. I'm doing this because of me. My safety and my co-workers. I was so mad. Now I understand why Jacob gets so upset when he works so hard to get the bad guy and his case is just thrown out like it's nothing. It's something... I will show them!

This isn't my first incident will irate people at the store. It's just my worst. I've had SEVERAL people come in mad at me because Jacob wrote them or a family member a ticket and be hateful and downright mean to me. I have nothing to do with who Jacob gives tickets to. I've even had several of the family members of the guy who threatened to kill Jacob come in. I love him being a cop. He's a good officer and people don't like that. I was so upset last night that I wanted to quit my job. I like my job but I can't handle people coming in and threatening me. It's not worth it.

What a week

Wow things have been busy. We have had a yard sale at moms last Thursday-Saturday. I've had 5 cakes to make. I've had to close at work each day. Yesterday and today we had a craft fair and I also had to work both days. This morning I also had Connor's preschool screening to go to. I've looked forward to tomorrow all week because I have NOTHING to do! I may sleep the entire day.

The Making of a garden

Monday night my father-in-law came over and dug my garden. Him and my mother-in-law came over today and finished it. I can't wait to start planting things. I'm really looking forward to having a garden. Hopefully I won't kill everything I plant. :)

How do you like my boobs?

This was a quick cake order. They called yesterday around noon. They needed it for today. I had to work from 2-10:30 last night. So that meant decorating LATE last night. Luckily since Jacob is so awesome at helping with fondant he finished it up for me at 3:00am when he got home. I think he just wanted to play with them. :)

Driveway

We had a busy day today. Was only suppose to be gone about an hour and ended up with a day that went like this...

First thing I stopped by work and picked up my paycheck. :) Then we took Connor to school. After that we went and got insurance on the new car.. oh crap I forgot to take pictures.. I'll do that tomorrow. Anyway I was happy that our insurance didn't go up. I was worried because of the train wreck. We to go get license. Found out that SOMEONE never paid out taxes.. ooops! So that meant a trip to Hartville. We ran by the house to pick up something and saw that the workers putting in the driveway were there. All I had to take a picture with was my cell phone so it didn't turn out the best. Jacob chatted with them for a little bit and then we left and headed to Hartville. Paid the taxes. Went to go to the license office over there. Waited in line OVER AN HOUR!! I'm not kidding! Got up there and was told that we had to have it inspected.. URG! So left there. Saw that Millers BBQ was in town. We just had to stop by because... Well, who can pass up Millers?? Back to Norwood we drive to go see James to get our car inspected. He's not in and won't be in until the morning. By this time I have a big headache. Go by another mechanic so that Jacob could ask him a question about something but he's not there either. Finally came home. I took some Excedrin and laid down. Took about an hour nap. Mom called and asked us to dinner. After dinner we went to rent a movie that Jacob and Connor wanted to see. They were out of the movie but because they have a guarantee they gave us a ticket to rent it for free when they get a copy back in. That was pretty cool.

What a day. I'm pooped. Seems like I haven't gotten a thing done in the last three days I've had off. Next week I only work three days!!

Snap Happy

We came home to this in our driveway. This big fella was hanging out in the muddy ruts of the driveway. And as big snappers usually are... it wasn't too friendly. It jumped about a foot when Jacob tried to move it along with a stick. I knew it would snap but never expected it to jump that far.

My brother-in-law Francis I think is about to start a zoo for little creatures at his house. Maybe We should take it to him. :)

A Day Off

The deck is almost done. The only thing left to do is the steps. The steps there are the ones Jacob made when we first moved in just so we'd have something to get inside the house. They are just temporary. It sure turned out nice. I'm VERY happy. Jacob and his parents did such a great job on it. It ended up being a great size for us. My patio table is still over at my In-laws house. My mother-in-law brought me some pretty hanging baskets!! You can see one of them and part of another in the top picture. :)

After 5 LONG days I have a day off!! YIPPY! Now 40 hours may not be that bad people but
I'm not use to working that many hours. I have 3 days off!! Tomorrow we get to go pick up the car we bought almost a month ago. When we first bought it we had every intention of fixing it up and reselling it but I'm DONE car shopping! As long as it runs good I'm keeping it. If Jacob wants another car... more power to him but I'm not shopping anymore. Hopefully it will run good or I might just have a nervous breakdown.

Oh Deck!

The deck has a floor. Jacob worked on it Friday and then his parents came over on Saturday and they made great progress. I've not been here for much of it since I've been working so much. They are going to work on it more today. It's going to be finished in no time!

I've not posted in a few days. You know the whole line of "if you can't say anything nice..." Well, thats been me this week. Poor Jacob would be a rich man if he'd had a dollar every time he's said "oh honey please don't cry. It's alright".

On a positive note my deck is being built! YIPPY! The first picture is of the lumber. Sure doesn't look like much for over $600!

The second one is of the whole crew here helping to work on it last night. This picture was taken just a couple hours before mom was rushed by ambulance to the hospital . They wanted to fly her but she was having NO part of that. Sure am glad you're feeling better Mom. I love ya and am not ready to lose you anytime soon.

Today Jacob worked outside on the deck and got a sunburn. I think he was trying to even out his sexy farmers tan. :) I had to work tonight. :( One down 4 more days until I have a day off! Hey, at least this week I'll get the same days off as Jacob.

Today is my sister-in-law Glendela's birthday. She may be my sister-in-law but to me she's been my sister my entire life. I don't remember life before she was a part of it. I hope you had a great day Della. We love you BUNCHES!!!

Frustrated!

STILL have yet to find a car... and STILL no title from the dealer so that we can drive the stupid car we already bought. It makes it so frustrating. I'm working 30 hours this week and almost 40 hours next week. We have to have a car to get Connor to school. Today I had to take off at noon to go get Jacob and Connor then I had to take off 15 minutes early so that I Jacob could pick me up so I didn't have to walk home in the thunderstorm. This is only my second week! My boss seems nice enough but I wonder how much longer they will put up with it. So far I like my job. I really do not want to lose my job because I don't have a car.

So on top of this because I've been working so much I forgot to send Connor a show and tell item today to school. Which made him VERY upset. I've missed the deadline to sign him up for t-ball. Not that I'd have a car to take him anyway. I can't seem to find the time to call the school to get an apt for kindergarten screening... which may I add is a bunch of CRAP!! I mean they say you HAVE to take them or they can't go to kindergarten. Sorry people but my son is old enough to go and there isn't a dang thing you can do if I don't go to your stupid screening. My kid has known all of the stupid required stuff since he was 2. As much as I LOVE my house I'm seriously starting to doubt why I wanted Connor to go to this school. After seeing the differences in preschools there is NO WAY I'd have sent him to Norwoods. No thanks I'm not looking for just a babysitter. I can just already tell that I'm going to have problems with this school.

I'm just as the title says "frustrated". It's my blog. If I want to be in a bad mood I'm welcome to do that. It's not been a good Friday the 13th.

How do people be a good Employee, wife and mom all at the same time? I can't seem to be either.

Car Shopping

We're still car shopping. Yes I posted that we bought one a few days ago and we did. Unfortunately we are still waiting on the idiotic dealer to bring the title. Which makes me a little more than slightly frustrated. The plan was to buy 2 cars anyway now that I'm working.

So today went like this.. We found this car.. it's BEAUTIFUL!! First it's PURPLE!!! Which as most of you know scores BIG points with me, I only wish they made more pink cars.. Anyway it's also a convertible!!! It's also priced well within our price range. So I'm thinking purple Firebird, convertible and priced great, how much better does it get. Well, then we decide to test drive it... Yep you guess it.. smells like a lemon to me! The car died twice before we got it out of the parking lot! The back seat belt was broke, the window and door locks didn't work... oh wait I take that back when they were messing with it after we got back from driving it the door locks worked.. worked so good they locked the keys in the car!

Second car. It's a 1997 Chevy Malibu. Cute 4 door car. No damage of any kind. Not many miles.. Priced even cheaper than the last car. Only problem I see up front with this car is that it's white. Now don't get me wrong I love white cars but Jacob has this thing with them. Him and my brother Scott have what we call "White Car Syndrome" They can't drive one without it breaking down. So we test drive it. It runs pretty good. For some reason when you let off the gas the RPM's do something weird. Jacob looked it up and doesn't think that it's a major problem. He's going to ask our mechanic about it. I still think it's probably a really good car. I'm just a little worried.

None of the other lots had anything. Well I'm sure Wehr had some but I REFUSE to buy a car from them. I'd tell you all why but it might end up being a pretty good case of slander. That and to list all of the reasons I'd still be typing this time tomorrow.

Looked at a couple cars for sell in Wal*Mart parking lot. Called about 2 but no one answered.

In better news I went to a yard sale today, Yes on Monday, and I got several Wilton candy and sucker molds for FREE!! How cool is that?? Some really cool ones too like Batman and Ninja Turtles!

We bought a car

We bought a car. It's not anything real great. Maybe I'm just disappointed because I liked my old one so much. It's a gold 95 Ford Thunderbird. For the most part it's in really good shape. We didn't give much for it at all so that's good. It was a long day yesterday. I was so tired from working, not getting any sleep. Ended up with a bad headache that afternoon.

Other than the car we didn't buy much. I bought a few small things. Some hair clips, couple things for crafts, Jacob bought a toy for Connor that he played with all the way home. He bought extra batteries in case he ran them down before he got home to give it to him, rolling eyes.

Connor's class went on a field trip yesterday. They went to the nursing home to hunt easter eggs. Each child got a prize from the Easter Bunny. Connor got a puzzle. His class is always doing such neat things. On Wednesday they took a "spring walk" they looked for all kinds of signs of spring. It was a little chilly but they all bundled up and had a great time. Connor said they found nests, birds, butterflies, flowers, trees turning green... it was fun he said. Right now his preschool graduation in on May 18th at 2:00pm. I'll let you all know if anything changes.

A Fire.. no never mind...

We are home and just getting ready to head to bed when the pager goes off. We have about 6 hours until we have to be up in the morning. I told Jacob I'll go listen to see what it is... DANG IT.. a structure fire. So grab our shoes and head out. We get to the fire house I grab my gear and Jacob gets suited up. We get in separate fire trucks and we're headed out. The call is to the local grocery store. Ya know the only one in town because it's so small. It's called in by several different callers as a big fire. We pull up and yes there is smoke and lots of it but no flames that we can see yet. We look in the window and suddenly someone comes out the door!! We're like ok.. so is your building NOT on fire??? Guess not. Turns out they have a large wood stove and it was blowing smoke over the roof. Did I mention LOTS of smoke.

Anyway we all get back to the fire house where I meet back up with Jacob. Stand around and chat for a few minutes and head home. Lost my hair scrunchies at some point during the process. Oh well.

So between working the last two days, a dud fire call and staying up WAY too late I'm going to be beat tomorrow.

I'm tired!!

Oh I'm tired. I told Jacob I'm just not sure if I'm cut out to be part of the working class! :) I worked from 8:00am-3:30pm. Might not be a long day for some but this girl was beat! I get to work tomorrow also. It sure is going to take some getting use to going back to work for minimum wage. Oh course the ONLY thing I miss about my old job is the $15/hour. I seem to like the people that I work with well. That alone can make the difference in how well a person likes their job.

Leftover pizza is the plan for dinner and they have to heat it up themselves. While they're in there they should heat me up some too. My feet hurt and I smell like cheeseburgers which is better than my last job that I came home smelling like cow poop.

After work we went to go pick up Connor from my mom's house. Came home and I see the swimming pool blowing across the yard. We had just told Connor not to be a baby the wind wasn't THAT bad. He saw it and said "See I told you the wind was that bad". Luckily the fence caught the pool and Jacob drug it back to the house.

I'm off to crash on the couch!

New Job!!

Today I got hired for the new job I applied for last week!! YIPPY SKIPPY!!

I'm pretty happy. I'll start out only working weekends which is great because Jacob always works weekends. I'm happy to be able to work part time. It gives me plenty of extra spending money without the stress and hours of full time.

I start tomorrow!

My Mother-in-law gave me a set of China that she had tonight. I fell in love with it several months ago when she first showed it to me. It's sooooo pretty!!

Every once in awhile I run across a website that I think it is pretty interesting. Not interesting enough to put it in my links section but still worth sharing. From now on I'll try to do better about sharing them. So when you see the title Spotlight on Website you'll know a great link is to follow. :)

There is lots of neat information on the Amber Alert system. You can also sign up to receive text messages to your phone when there is an Amber Alert issued for your specific area. The best part about this is that the service is FREE. Neither the website or any of the cell phone providers charge for these messages. I looked and I believe all of the carriers in this area are on the list. For example the ones I know I saw are ... Cingular, US Cellular, Alltel, Verision.. and Much more. Those are just the ones that I know we have in this area. I tried to sign up but the page was down last time I tried so hopefully I'll get around to signing up soon.

My blogger anniversary & Cake

Today is a very exciting day. My blog is one year old today!! So I guess it would be my blogging anniversary but to my blog it would be it's birthday :)

I made some cakes yesterday. Glendela is raising money for Relay for life. Her team was having a bake sale for today so I made her 4 little doll cakes.
