Still no drain

I didn't get to post last night. We had company until real late. I've had my friend Jeni's two girls today. Connor was happy about that. They had a bunch of fun. They played in his pool.

I'm trying to get as much junk out as possible for our garage sale this weekend. It's City Wide garage sales this weekend. I have a ton of stuff to get rid of. Our garage sale is going to be huge! Mom, Aunt Kay, Shelsie, and I all have stuff and then Blackjack church is going to set up under the carport in the yard.

We are still having drain problems with our sink so far we have tried... normal Draino, Liquid Fire, a plunger, a snake, A $60 plummer, a homemade recipe Jacob found that includes vinegar and baking soda and some stuff that MFA swore would eat through a softball. So tomorrow Jacobs going to try to take out and replace all the pluming under the house. Who knows! I told him if he didn't get it fixed soon I was going to run a drain pipe into the yard!

Playing with Barbies

I made this Barbie cake tonight. I've had this pan for awhile and had never used it so I thought I'd "play" with it tonight. I have a wedding cake to do for Saturday and I wanted to make the roses ahead of time, it makes decorating a whole lot faster and easier. Anyway I knew I'd have extra frosting so I made a cake. Jacob and Connor are happy because I rarely get to make a cake they can eat!

Oh, and yes I got my roses made also. I made almost 20 of them. That should be enough since they gave me lots of little western things that they wanted on it also.

Forgot to post

Anyone notice I didn't post yesterday. Well, that's because I forgot. Honestly! I had went to post earlier in the day but didn't get around to it. then last night I could have swore I already posted so I didn't bother with it. I swear I could forget anything!

It's been another HOT day. We had someone stop by today wanting yards to mow.. hmm.. I guess he thought our yard NEEDED mowed! I should really do that this evening while it's not as hot.

Connor has been playing in his pool. We filled it up yesterday. I think the water was warmer than bath water today. I made tea today and it wasn't no time until it was done.

HOT HOT HOT

It's HOT! It rains and it's STILL hot! The humidity is terrible. I went to an auction here in town tonight. I didn't buy anything. Mom bought a couple things. They had some wicker patio furniture like I've been wanting but it went to high for me to buy. If anyone would happen to run across some patio furniture wicker, wood, metal or heavy plastic let me know. I'm really wanting some for my back deck so I can set outside and watch my pond.

Jacob cooked dinner tonight and it was really good. I helped but he did most of the work. He's a good cook. He should do it more often! :)

Babies are gone

We brought my mother-in-law 14 of the baby fish. We traded her babies for big fish for my pond. I moved a couple more rocks to put by my pond tonight. It was too hot outside to do much during the day today. Connor has been begging me to fill up his little pool and let him swim so I might do that tomorrow. Jacob has a three day weekend this week. Unfortunately payday isn't until Monday so we don't have any money to go out and really do much.

American Idol

Have you been watching the show this season?? I love the show. I record it every week on our DVR. I was surprised at the winner but am very happy with the outcome. Taylor Hicks is the newest American Idol! Soul Patrol, Soul Patrol, Soul Patrol as Taylor would say.

Pond and Pizza

I made a quick trip up to Springfield with mom today. She had to pick up a few more boxes of shingles. It was quite funny to see our guy that came to unload the shingles for us try to show off how strong he was by loading them into the car, that was until I informed him that we had watched my husband and nephews throw them on their shoulder and carry them up the ladder. :)
I worked on my pond and yard this afternoon. We have decided to make the entire side yard into a garden like area. It's going to be really pretty. Jacob's parents brought me 2 big goldfish for my pond tonight!! They are so pretty. They also brought me a load of rocks, some flowers that my father-in-law has decided to rename as Amandagolds instead of marigolds ;) They also brought me a turtle to set by my pond. Now as long as I can keep the dog from running off with it like she does my frog! :( Tonight we ordered pizza and we went out to the VFW hall and ate and they set up for bingo for Thursday night.

T-Ball

Tonight was Connor's first t-ball game of the season. He did really well. The only thing he gets mad about is that he doesn't get to catch the ball ever single time. He will run to first base from third base to try to beat the first baseman to the ball! We had to have a little heart-to-heart about everyone getting a turn to catch the ball. After that he was better. His next game is next Monday at 7:00pm.

After Connor's game we went to Cabool to see Shyla's softball game. They won 9-4. They are doing pretty good this year.

My Life..

My life I don't feel is really that exciting so it's hard sometimes to come up with things to post about. Today has been another one of those not so exciting days. Nothing much really happened. We had 2 cute neighborhood girls stop by our house today selling blackberries they had picked. Jacob of course bought their handfuls of blackberries for .50. They were no where near ripe and there wasn't but a few of them but the girls were excited to earn a little money so Jacob bought them. :)

Today was our pick-up day for our Angel Food ministries box. We picked it up at a new location today than we had been getting it. Angel Food Ministries is a very neat program. SDC continued

Yesterday we had a ton of fun at Silver Dollar City. Connor got scared on the first ride we went on and wasn't real excited about riding anything else the entire day. I spent most of the day sitting out with him while Jacob and Shyla rode rides. I got to do lots of people watching and I met several really nice people. They have 10 new rides this year all in a new area. Shyla rode Powder Keg 7 times in a row!

We got to make 3 people very happy as we first went into the park. We had received bring a friend tickets with our season passes and they were to expire today. I hated to see them go to waste so as we walked near the gate I found a group of people that were getting ready to purchase their tickets and asked if they would like to have them. They were so excited and told us thank you about a million times. They had drove all the way from Dallas TX to come to Silver Dollar City.

Tonight we went to Shyla's softball game. They won their game. Congrats Shy!

We went to Silver Dollar City today. My niece Shyla went with us. We had a great time but I am plum wore out! My legs and feet are killing me. Connor insisted on navigating the map the entire day to point out our next destination.

I'll try to post more about it tomorrow when I'm not as tired. Right now me and the bathtub have a date!

Spiderman Comes in the Mail!

We had a very tragic even happen at our house this past week. Connor has a inflatable Spiderman that is almost as tall as he is, Spidey was taller than Connor when Connor first got him. Well, Spiderman is like Connor's best friend. I know, I know the poor only child needs real friends... But anyway, Connor adores Spiderman. He plays with him ALL the time. While playing with Spiderman a few days ago he threw it at Sadie. Well, Sadie "caught" him. Needless to say Spiderman got a hole and Connor was VERY upset! I looked everywhere in Springfield on Friday, no place had one. Friday night I tried to look him up on the internet and finally found one cheap enough on Ebay. I paid $2.99 for him which I thought was a pretty good deal. He arrived in the mail today and Connor is very happy. He told me how much he had missed him and how he was so glad to have him back. An end to a tragic event!

Sunday

Today has been pretty much dull. Not too much to write about. Mom while mowing her yard mowed the area outside of our fence so now I don't have to mow it! Thanks Mom! This was the first time in over 5 years that my mother has mowed their lawn and I don't remember her doing it too much before then. Even still she may be out of practice but she does a better job than me. :)

I got my nephew's graduation card made tonight. Tim graduates next Sunday!

I have a new link to The History channels website. The link goes to their "This Day in History" page. It's very interesting.

Rained Out!

Ok, so I know that we needed rain but it's getting a little ridiculous. On top of that it's cold! I want no part of this. Crazy!

Mom went to yard sales this morning. She bought me the coolest Wilton set, cake decorating set, it has all kinds of stuff I can't wait to play with all my new "toys". She also bought me a 14 in. Wilton pan! I have been needing to buy one forever now. Thanks Mom!

Well, before it started raining, AGAIN, I got about over half of our yard mowed. I got all the area inside the fence mowed and the front yard mowed. So all that's left is outside the fence in the back yard. Jacob got the weed-eating done.

~ Pond Picture ~

Here's my pond! Jacob thinks that I need more rocks around the waterfall to make that area bigger.

I'm happy with how it turned out. I just LOVE it!

Daily blog

No picture of the pond yet. It was rainy today. I finally got my Silver Dollar City tickets taken care of. We had ordered them back in February and I finally got an e-mail saying my order had Been cancelled!! Well, after a couple phone calls it turns out that the "credit card", it's our debit card, had been denied. I guess there was a problem with the expiration date not being right. Anyway, it's done they are still going to charge us the same amount and we'll get our bring a friend tickets! The savings is crazy! We saved $40 just by ordering them in Feb vs. Ordering them now. Plus now the deadline is passed for bring a friend tickets so we wouldn't have gotten them either. Glad we ordered early!

I went to bingo tonight. Didn't win but that's ok. Jacob's Aunt Mary won.

Stormy night

It stormed for awhile here tonight. I didn't get my pictures taken of my pond until it was too dark outside and they didn't turn out good. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow. It's pretty much all finished. It looks nice. We finished up the rocks around the waterfall with the rocks we went and picked up today. Jacob got called out to help with a search just as we got home. That meant I got to unload them all by myself. I had an accident with the wheelbarrel and now my leg has a big "boo boo".

Progress

Well, I've made progress today. We decided that we didn't like the plastic waterfall that came with the pond so Jacob bought some quickcrete and used the plastic thing as a mold. Now we have a very nice concrete waterfall. I still have a lot of work to do to it. The waterfall will be surrounded by rocks, I have a birdhouse that my dad made that I'm going to hang on the tree, also have a birdfeeder that needs put up, and just a whole lot of other little things that I want to do. I got my plants planted that my Mother-in-law got for me. It's hard to see them in the picture. I stole the bench from my mom. ;) This project has been 10 times more work than I expected and cost about 3 times more than I expected but it sure is pretty. The sound is just lovely. I could listen to it all day.

Pond Update

The pond is in! I had to bucket out 90 gallons of water! Jacob releveled it and put it all back together. We've worked on it the majority of the day. Now all that's left is to make it pretty! I'll post pictures as soon as it's pretty.

It's raining here now and they are calling for storms. In fact they are calling for storms for every day until Saturday. I think we may need to build an Ark!
