Plants and other things

Today I planted 10 seed packets of seeds. They are all in plastic cups. For some reason my four leaf clover isn't looking too good but in good news my sweet pepper plant got a sprout today!!

I never could figure out why my father-in-law would send pictures of his plants to people but now I understand. I'm obsessed with my plants! lol

If I haven't e-mailed you yet to tell you I have a new e-mail address.. here's your notification. I'm going to be taking off the e-mail me link, I think that may be where lots of my junk mail is coming from. If you don't have my new e-mail address leave me a comment and I'll send it to ya.

For those of you out there that have a blog at blogger and have yet to upgrade to the new blogger you really should. I just switched and it's not bad. They didn't change anything. They just added things, which you don't HAVE to use. I was very scared to upgrade because I liked it just the way it was. You know the whole "if it ain't broke don't fix it" line. Well there is also the line "Change is good" :)

More plants

Today at Wal-Mart I bought me a couple small plant kits. They were only .97. One is pumpkin and the other watermelon. Hopefully they will grow. Each came with a Jiffy dirt cup, the kind that you can plant the entire thing once it starts and, dirt and 3 seeds. I also bought me a big bag of potting soil and some tiny plastic cups to start all my flower seeds I bought the other day.
My Easter lilies are still MIA!! I'm so sad!! I MUST have easter lilies!

NOW TAKING EASTER LILLY DONATIONS.

p.s I have a don't ask don't tell policy on any that get brought to me that might have been dug up from the side of the road... or even your neighbors yard. :)

7 Day Forecast

Look at this forecast!! Isn't it wonderful!! I LOVE Thursdays! Unfortunately I have to work that day. At least I won't be freezing my butt off like last week. Last week at work I got frostbite. I'm not kidding! Skin fell off of my fingers. This weather makes me want to plant things so bad. I know I'm getting impatient. Yesterday the weather was so nice. I spent a couple hours outside picking rocks and making a flower bed.

Speaking of plants. I really don't think I have a green thumb. But I try hard. I blame my lack of gardening on my mother. I think she could kill a plastic plant. lol. My dad touches things and they grow. He can grow anything. so here I am with my dads will to grow things and my mothers luck! Anyway, Aunt Kay bought me a neat plant for my housewarming party. I planted it, not really expecting it to grow because I'm just that way. What do you know?? It grew and grew and grew!! This plant is like 2 feet tall... BUT it hasn't bloomed and I'm starting to get worried. I think I need to transplant it into a bigger pot and maybe then it will bloom. I'm scared to death of killing it! Because of this fast growing plant it has gave me the confidence to buy more plants. I'm falling in love with "plant kits" They come with everything soil, seeds, pot. Everything a beginning gardener needs. Plus it gives me the opportunity to grow these plants in my kitchen. Which not only makes my kitchen pretty but gives me a chance to see these plants several times a day each and every day. This I hope will help me learn how things grow and what to do when I have a big garden outside. While in Springfield last week I bought the neatest little tiny "garden kit" It's a kit that grows 4 leaf clovers! How cool is that?!?! It's like only a one inch pot. It was a dollar at Target. Then the other day I was looking for my Mother-in-law a birthday gift and I found some garden kits that were fruits and vegies! I bought her strawberries. they have a huge garden and I wanted to buy her something that they normal didn't grow and that was it. I also bought me a strawberry plant and a sweet pepper plant. I'd much rather grow something that I can eat than I would flowers but I'm having so much fun planting that it doesn't really matter. One of my favorite flowers to grow is Tulips and my Mother-in-law bought me tulips the other day. They are so pretty. They too are in my kitchen. I was really missing my Tulips from our old house. Now at least I'll have a start. I'm also going to miss my Easter Lilies. I've loved Easter lilies since I was a kid. It took all my dad could do to keep me from picking them when I was little... Oh great now I'm REALLY missing Easter lilies! lol

This post just keeps getting longer and longer. lol. I honestly only meant to write about the weather. It's too warm to be in here. I'm headed outside!!

I'll get some pictures taken and keep you filled in on the progress.

Happy Valentines Day

Here is a picture of the chocolate chip cookie cake I made. Thanks so much to my wonderful niece Shyla for getting the order for me. It's my very first cookie cake and I think it turned out pretty good. Ok honestly I was just thrilled when it didn't break or crack being put on the cardboard!

Thanks again Shy!! You're the best!

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!

Still Sick

I know it's been a week since I posted. I've been really sick. I'm STILL sick. Starting to wonder if I'll ever get over this darn thing. Not much has happened. Jacob's computer blew up the other day so we have been sharing. Luckily I don't feel much like being on it anyway. I've taken almost an entire box of cold medicine and all I seem to do is feel worse.

I've got lots that I want to post about but don't really feel like it right now.

Back to the Hillary thing

Ok, So back to my topic of Mrs.Clinton running for office. How far do you think she will make it? Do you think she has a chance of winning the primary? Do you think that this country is ready for a female president? How will this effect the election? Will people vote for her just because she is a woman or maybe people will vote against her for the same reason? All very good questions. I honestly hope she wins the primary. Not because I want to see her in office or because I think that a woman should be president but because I think that if she wins the primary a Republican has an even better chance of winning the presidential election. Maybe the republicans will elect a female also. Then we will have the holy grail of cat fights. Being male or female really has no bearing on my decision of who to vote for. I do not consider myself a womans liberal in the slightest. Mainly because I feel that women liberals believe that in order to succeed you must have some type of high paying career. I believe that being a woman liberal should mean that the woman has the choice to choose what she wants to do with her life and if that choice is to stay at home and raise her children then it should be looked upon just as highly. But that is for another post. This post is about the presidential election of 2008. I think that Democrats have been campaining for the 2008 election since 9-11. I believe that John Kerry was just a ploy and they never truly meant for him to get elected. Hillary Clinton stood no chance against President Bush. Not that I think she stands much of a chance of winning against anyone.

Hillary might have had a chance if she would have chose to leave her cheating husband. Then she would have opened up a new genre of women. The hard working single moms. I'm not saying that divorce is the answer to this kind of behavior. I'm saying that he showed a history of this type of behavior and so leaving him is the best thing she could have done for herself. It would have proved how strong she was and how she wanted this presidency for herself and not for her husband.

As far as her husband Bill goes.. Well I think he would make a better first lady than she did. Mrs. Clinton is far from the image of an ideal "Lady" She could really use some pointers from Laura Bush. Who in my opinion has been the excellent image of a First Lady. Also Bill seems to like skirts well enough maybe we should see him wearing one.

Jake and I "Playing" In The Snow

The picture isn't real great but here is us in a ditch. We slid off the road on our way to Mtn.Grove on Wednesday night. This is Jacob's dad pulling us out.

Luckily neither the car or us were hurt. The license plate is pretty dented up but thats it!
