Working

I haven't posted all weekend. I've worked the last 4 days in Springfield cleaning houses. I'm pooped. The work is hard enough but sometimes I think the hour drive wears me out more than anything.

I was happy to get 8 hours sleep last night. Saturday night I only got 30 minutes sleep! Needless to say I was not 100% functional. Thirty minutes isn't even a decent nap let alone enough sleep for an entire night. Expecialy when you've been working all night and working the next day.

In the middle of all this working I have had 2 cake orders. One for an anniversary cake and one that was for 40 cupcakes. I forgot to take a picture of the cupcakes but I'll try to post the cake picture a little later.
I don't have to work tomorrow. I'm sure going to enjoy the money but it will be nice to have a day off.

Has it been that long???

Wow has it really been since Monday since I posted? I guess I've just had a busy week.
Mom reminded me that I forgot to post Luther Joe's birthday on my blog. It was on the 25th. Shelsie's birthday was on the 20th and I think I forgot to mention that also. So happy sweet 16 Luther. We sure do miss you. Happy 15th Birthday Shelsie.
Tuesday I went to Springfield with my friend Jeni. We had a good time. Her dad had surgery but seemed to be doing really well when we visited with him. We had fun and we got to go shopping. The only thing I really bought was some stuff for my cakes.
I still haven't posted pictures of the house... and I've still not got it on the market... maybe next week. I sure have been saying that for way too many weeks!

Almost ready

The house is almost ready to list. I am hoping that we get to go list it on Wednesday. I'm going to Springfield with a friend of mine tomorrow so I won't be around much. We got lots of pictures taken today. I'll try to post some of them later tonight or tomorrow when I get back from Springfield.
More good news is that I have 2 cake orders for this weekend! Well one is a cake and one is for 40 cupcakes. I'd love to be able to do 2 or 3 cakes a week. Heck I'd love to do 8-10 cakes a week! I have to give thanks to Mutt and Jeff's variety store. My good friends in-laws own the store and they have started doing wedding consulting and have been bringing me lots of orders. I greatly appreciate that!

Pictures from our trip

Here is a few pictures of our trip. The first one is of me swimming in the nice heated indoor pool. The second one is of one of the casinos. It's also where we ate lobster on our anniversary. The bottom two were taken at Lavern's Wedding Chapel. We stopped in there because it is where my in-laws Joe and Glinda got married. It was a cute little wedding chapel. It has mini pews and a shotgun leaning up in the corner in the back of the room. I guess for "shotgun" weddings lol. It was also neat to be there because about 6 months before I finally agreed to marry Jacob he had came to me at work and begged me to run off to Miami and get married. I still wasn't sure at the time and told him no. Sorry about that babe but on the other hand I'm still glad I got to have my wedding.

A Small Change

I've been receiving some spam on my comments so now when you leave a comment you will have to type in a security thing. It's no big deal. You just type the letters that appear in the box. This way comments can't be automatically left. Someone must manually type them.

Sorry for the trouble. I know it's annoying to mess with.

It's our Anniversary!

Today is our 6th Wedding Anniversary. Right now I'm waiting for my waffle to get out of the toaster. Continental breakfast isn't that great buy hey it's FREE!
After we leave here we are off to go see Lavern's Wedding Chapel. That is where my In-Laws got married about a million years ago. Their anniversary is tomorrow. Then we will probably go check out the casinos, maybe look around town. Tonight we are going out for a nice dinner. Last night we ate at Long John Silvers, I was thinking about ya Mom!
Happy anniversary Jacob. I love you so very much!

Howdy From Oklahoma

Hey Everyone, We are in Miami OK. We're having a great time. Our hotel has internet access! Which I'm not enjoying as much as I did the indoor pool and the hot tub.

Today we went to 2 different casinos. The first one sucked but the second we had a really good time at. Didn't win any money of course but we're here to have fun.

Connor I love you and I miss you!!! I'm sure you are having a blast with Uncle Tom.

I'll try to post more tomorrow and I'll post pictures as soon as we get back on Saturday.

Wish you all were here!

Today Is My Birthday

It's after midnight so it's officially my birthday. I turn 24 today. Jacob gave me my birthday gift at midnight. I think he was trying to make up for forgetting it last year. He bought me a new pink shirt, 2 pair of earrings and a card. The card is so funny.

Here is what the card says...

Front:

So, anyway, I'm standing in line to buy you a freakin' birthday card and the line is like seventeen billion people long 'cause the only thing the dumb teenage boy at the register is thinking about is the dumb teenage girl at the other register, and some dumb lady is turning her purse inside out to come up with "exact change" like she is going to win some kind of "exact change trophy" or something, and some idiot starts up his "This item was marked with the sale price" crap, and I just really hope you like this card...

Inside:
'Cause I stole it.
Happy Birthday.

I LOL reading the entire thing and when I read 'cause I stole it I thought I was going to cry I was laughing so hard. Why is it so funny??? Because except with the stealing part it describes my last trip to Wal-Mart perfectly.

Ok, it's almost 1:00am on my birthday. I really should go to bed, I just got done eating ice cream. Calories don't count on your birthday... ok they really shouldn't count of yours, your husbands, kids, or pretty much anyone else that you may even remotely know. It's really a bummer that I must waste 8 hours of my birthday by sleeping. ;)

Getting The House Ready

We have been working hard to get our house ready to sell. There is still a lot of stuff that needs done but I think we have decided to go ahead and put it on the market. Then we will continue to make the minor repairs and adjustments as we go. Hopefully it won't be on the market too long. It's really not that unusual for a house around here to be on the market for over a year or more. We'll just have to pray that ours doesn't take that long. So either tomorrow or Tuesday we will be putting the house on the market. We aren't 100% sure whom to list it with. We have 2-3 really good options.

Blogging

So much for keeping up with my blog. It's been since Tuesday since I posted.
Yesterday was my brother Tom's birthday. Happy Late Birthday Bub.
I'll try to make a point of it to post every single day this week to get back in the habbit. We'll see how it goes.

Cedar Center Park

Mountain Grove has a fairly new addition to their park at the Cedar Center. It has recently built a new walking trail. The trail is all paved and runs along the entire park over 2 bridges and around by Wall Street. It's a great location to walk there are lots of shade trees, squirrels, 2 lovely bridges to cross. Nothing is uphill! I'm not sure on the distance it is. I need to find that out. I've only walked there a couple of times. Tonight I had a companion. Sadie came and walked with me. Jacob walked one lap and then left me and her. He thinks she could use the exercise so I think she is going to start walking with me. I don't mind having her. She's a real good dog. She's take off and tree the squirrels if I'd let her though. lol.

Monday Update

I don't really have much to post about today but I really want to get back in the habbit of posting on my blog more.
An update on Sadie- Many of you have been asking how Saide is doing. She is doing so great. She's back to her normal hyper self. Her paws are almost healed completly. She's back to work and loves it.

Vanzant Picnic

Here is a picture of my parents with Connor at the Vanzant Picnic. Picnics have been a part of my life for my entire life. I attended my very first picnic when I was less than 2 weeks old, I of course remember every single detail of that one lol. So anyway tonight and tomorrow night is the annual Vanzant Picnic. The picture is of Mom and Dad with Connor walking the cake walk. Jacob thinks that they are horribly boring and refused to go with me tonight. He's no fun.

Activities will start around 6pm or so tomorrow night if anyone would like to come.

Directions, in case ya don't know: From Mountain Grove take Hwy 95 south to Hwy W, turn left and it's about a mile or so down Hwy W on the left. Parking is in the field on the right, watch out for cow patties!

She's Home

It has been a stressful couple of days. Sorry for my lack of blogging. Here is what happened... On Saturday July 1st just about an hour after I took this picture of Sadie and Jacob we sat down to watch the fireworks out at the industrial park here in town. She was nervous when the few test shots went off but was ok. She has been trained around guns and so we didn't worry too much. When they started the opening display she went nuts and somehow slipped out of her collar. She took off. This is so unlike Sadie because she under almost NO circumstance will she disobey Jacob. Anyway it was dark she was running frantic and we lost her. We looked until after 1am that next morning. The next day I got up at dawn and went to look for her. When I got back Jacob went out. We spent the entire day looking for her. The Mtn.Grove officers and several other officers, friends and family also went looking for her but we just couldn't find her. We hung up flyers and called the radio station to have them announce it. On Monday morning I got up and called Market Time on the radio. I no more than got off the phone with them when I received a call from a lady that said she heard me on the radio and told me she had seen her the day before across town on Sunshine Drive and that she was headed toward old bus. 60. We took out again. At one point I swore I heard her whining but there was traffic behind us. At that time I was riding with mom. She asked me if I wanted to go back but I told her no that it was probably one of the dog we had just seen in that area. About an hour later I was back riding with Jacob and he was walking and heard a dog crying when he called out her name. We got in the car and followed the crys. Which led us to where I had been stopped with my mom calling for her. She was hurt pretty bad but she had made it up the hill where I had been. Jacob spotted her immediately as we pulled up. Her feet were huts so bad that she couldn't even walk to him. She just stood there with her legs shaking. Jacob ran to her, picked her up and carried her to the car. She was found over 5 miles from where she had went missing. She had found the railroad tracks. We live near the tracks and she knew that. She continued to follow the train tracks, unfortunately by the time she found them she was already too lost to know where she was and headed in the wrong direction. Her pads on her feet were all wore off from traveling on the hot sharp rocks by the train tracks. She was also highly dehydrated. It doesn't appear that she had drank any water during the 3 days she was gone. We took her to Dr. Jim McMinn at the Cabool Vet. Clinic. He is a great vet that I have worked with a few times at the sale barn. He gave her 4 shots, some pills, and some spray to put on her feet. She is doing well. She is still really weak and has a hard time walking but she is going to live which is what is important! She's on sick leave for a few days. We are just so glad to have her back safe at home. I honestly thought that I would never see her again.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped us look for her. Also to the Mtn.Grove Radio station and to Anita Taylor who called in. If it weren't for her we would have never found Sadie due to the fact that she was in the total opposite direction than where we were looking. Thanks Everyone!

Happy Independence Day

Today marks a big day in American History. For it was on this day 230 years ago that the United States of America declared independence. The declaration came 442 days after the first volleys of the American Revolution were fired at Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts and marked an ideological expansion of the conflict
that would eventually encourage France's intervention on behalf of the Patriots.
Happy 230th Birthday America!
